Medical Space Planning

If you are considering building a new facility, renovating an existing building, or relocating your practice to an existing facility we can help. Medical Design International has unique experience and knowledge not found in generalized architectural firms.

  • Are doctors spending too much time walking?
  • Are patients spending too much time waiting?
  • Is staff spending too much time moving patients and coordinating records?

You can eliminate wasted time and increase efficiency by having medical space designed around the four S’s.

After working with you to complete a Medical Facility Planning Analysis, which allows us to understand how your practice will flow most efficiently, we will then design your space plan. By taking into consideration each doctor’s unique style, staffing requirements and patient flow, your space plan can truly be customized to help you increase efficiencies and your revenue potential. Planning for your medical space includes the creation of a volumetric flow diagram, organization diagram, and a schematic plan.

Once your medical space plan is finished, we can continue working with you to further develop your architectural plan, and to work as your architects. With our unique experience and knowledge, nobody knows better than we do how to take your medical space plan and incorporate it with the next steps in architectural design and development.

In some situations it may make sense for you to use a local architect. If you find yourself in this situation, we can package your space plan and present it to your local architect.
