Cook Children’s Medical Center, Fort Worth, Texas

For this project, MDI was brought in association with a medical management consultant to establish new practice systems and optimize the production characteristics of the doctors on the hospital’s staff.  This was accomplished by the end of October 1997.

Part of this analysis was the development of a comprehensive space program for all the specialties going into the new medical building.  The users in the building require 60,000 square feet of space.

By the middle of November 1997, all the physician users signed-off on the space program representing their needs as well as the organizational concept for their space allocation.

Beginning in February 1999 medical staff began occupying the new facility.  By April 1999 all of the facility was fully occupied with reports that the physicians’ productivity had increased 50-70%.
