North Alabama Bone and Joint Clinic, Florence, Alabama
This practice was first a client of Medical Design International in 1992 when 3 MD’s (adding 4th) were leaving their multi-specialty group to form their own orthopedic practice. The group needed the expertise of MDI, not only to assist in designing their 1st facility, but also to prepare them for whatever growth the practice might experience.
The original facility was approximately 11,000 square feet housing orthopedic space and plain film x-ray. The practice flourished and in early 1993 MDI designed a 5,200 square foot satellite in Muscle Shoals. As the group continued to grow in 1994, MDI designed an expansion to the original facility of approximately 8,000 square feet to add rental space for physical therapy, neurology, and rheumatology. The practice also added space at this time for a procedure suite and occupational medicine.
North Alabama Bone and Joint Clinic continues to grow and expand. MDI has recently completed a renovation design that changes the procedure suite into a full-body open MRI suite. MDI is currently working with North Alabama Bone and Joint Clinic and Helen Keller Hospital to relocate the practice’s satellite office.
