Guildford Medical Center

Medical Design International was contacted by a neurosurgeon in 1999 to assist him in the transformation of a hosiery factory in Gainesville, Georgia into a much needed medical complex. The site consisted of two buildings totaling 165,000 square feet built over 50 years ago, and in need of much repair.

With the concept being several different specialties going into the facility, Medical Design International performed our Medical Facility Planning Analysis (MFPA) and Space Programming services for the practices to determine the amount of space each would require. After developing the Space Programs for each practice, we were able to ascertain the total amount of square footage needed and how the various specialties should be located to best use the building and achieve good access to each. \

Working with the owner, his developer and each of the practices, Medical Design International was able to reconfigure the 165,000 square feet of factory space into 115,000 square feet of attractive, efficient space for Orthopedists, Urologists, Neurologists, Surgeons, Nephrologists, Internists, Cardiologists and Pulmonologists through the use of our planning and architectural services.
